Some studies suggest that the chemicals in cocoa beans do a better job of fighting off cavities than fluoride does. Dark chocolate can also keep bad bacteria from sticking to your teeth.The Right Type of ChocolateIn order to receive oral benefits from chocolate, you need to make sure that it is the right type of chocolate. Milk chocolate is highly processed and filled with sugar and will do your teeth more harm than good. White chocolate will also not provide any added benefits. Remember as well that not all dark chocolates are the same. To receive benefits for your mouth, look for dark chocolate that is 70 percent cocoa or higher.
